What to Expect: An Epic Adventure Made for Two

An elopement isn’t just a scaled-down wedding—it’s an intentional, breathtaking adventure centered entirely around your unique bond. Think of your elopement photos as a visual journal of an epic, intimate day where the camera is simply along for the ride. Instead of holding stiff, traditional poses in front of a crowd, we'll keep things moving with laughter, playfulness, and genuine connection as we explore. You won’t ever have to worry about feeling awkward; I’ll guide you through fun, interactive prompts that match the energy of your surroundings. My goal is for your photography experience to feel like a natural, thrilling part of your adventure.

The elopement experience

Connection Over Perfection

Your elopement is defined by your decision to focus on what matters most: each other. Because of this, your photos will focus on raw, unfiltered emotion rather than rigid perfection. Whether we are windblown on a mountaintop, running through the rain, or sharing a quiet embrace in a forest, I capture the authentic, wild, and beautiful connection that led you to choose this incredible path together.

Playful Prompts

There is no room for stiff, formal posing on an adventure. I keep the energy alive and natural by using fun, lighthearted prompts and interactive games that get you reacting to each other and your environment. From racing each other down a trail to whispering what you're most excited for in marriage, these prompts keep the smiles real and the experience entirely stress-free.

A Memory, Not Just a Gallery

An elopement is a memory of a lifetime, and the photos should reflect the thrill of the entire journey. My goal is for the shoot to feel like a seamless, unforgettable experience where you get to explore, laugh, and celebrate your love without boundaries. When you look at your gallery, you won't just see beautiful scenery—you'll relive the exact feeling of standing on the edge of the world, starting your forever.

FAQ

"We are hiking/exploring for our elopement. How do we handle getting ready and our outfits?"

You have options! Many couples choose to hike in comfortable activewear and change into their wedding attire once we reach our destination (I can bring a lightweight pop-up changing tent, or we can use nature as our dressing room). If your outfits are easy to move in, you can absolutely wear them for the trek. We will plan the perfect logistics together based on our trail!

"We want our elopement to be totally private. How does the photoshoot fit into that?"

I completely respect the intimacy of an elopement. During your ceremony, vows, or quiet moments, I take a step back with a zoom lens to give you plenty of physical and emotional space to just be together. When we transition into portraits, it will feel like a fun, collaborative hike with a friend rather than a heavy production.

"What happens if the weather is wild on our elopement day?"

Embrace it! Wild weather—like dramatic clouds, fog, wind, or light snow—makes for some of the most epic, breathtaking, and romantic elopement photos imaginable. As long as the conditions are safe, we will dive right into the adventure. If extreme weather poses a safety risk, we will work together on a backup location or coordinate a flexible window to adjust our timing.

"Can we incorporate personal traditions or activities into our day?"

100% yes! Because elopements have no rules, you can make the day entirely your own. Want to pop champagne on a cliffside, have a first dance to a song played on your phone, bring your dog along, or share a mini picnic of your favorite local donuts? Let's make it happen! I love capturing the unique, personal details that make your adventure yours.
